Amos Beebe Eaton (1806-1877) graduated from the US Military Academy in 1826, took part in the Seminole War in Florida and was with General Taylor's army of occupation in the Mexican War. He was in Benicia and San Francisco, CA, between 1853-55. During the Civil War he was purchasing commissary in New York City (1861-64) and commisary-general of subsistence in Washington, D.C.
